Backups
Admin-only. Backups can be restored on this or another server.
Backups contain ALL data, including personal data and password hashes. Store them like a secret. They are written to the backup folder /var/lib/faden/backups.
Automatic backups
A backup is made once a month, at the day and hour below (UTC). If the app was not running at that time, the missed backup is made as soon as it runs again. Only scheduled backups are deleted when there are more than the number you keep; manual, uploaded and command-line backups are never removed automatically.

This replaces ALL current data and attachments with the contents of this backup. A safety backup of the current state is taken first. You will be signed out, and the app is unavailable for a moment. The commands inside a backup file run on the database during the restore, so only restore files you created yourself or trust completely. It has to be issued for this installation (its ID is on the License page) and is checked first - if it cannot be used, nothing is changed. Leave it empty to use the license stored in the backup. | ||||||

Upload a backup
Maximum size: 2.0 GB. Uploading only adds the file to the list; nothing is restored until you choose Restore on its row.
Warning: the contents of a backup file run as database commands during the restore. Only upload and restore files you created or fully trust.
