License

The installation's license status and details, plus installing, replacing and removing the license key.

Address in the app: /admin/license

The License window is for administrators only. It shows whether this installation's license is valid and lets you install a new key.

Data can always be read. Changes need a valid license and keep working for 7 days after it expires.

Parts of the window

  1. Status

    The status label, any message, and the license details: organisation, type, edition, seats, validity, support and installation date.

  2. Workspaces in use

    Each square is one workspace of the license: filled means in use, empty means free. All workspaces count, archived ones too.

    For big licenses one square stands for several workspaces, and the note under the squares says how many. When there are more workspaces than the license covers, red squares and a message appear. The app keeps working.

  3. Installation ID

    This installation's ID with a Copy button. You give it to the vendor who issues the license.

  4. License key

    A field for the key and the install or replace button. The button works only once a key is pasted.

  1. Removal confirmation

    A question with Remove and Cancel buttons. After removal the registry becomes read-only at once.

How to

  1. Check the license status

    The colored label in the Status card says whether the license is valid, in the grace period, or the registry is read-only. Below it are the license details, including Valid and Support.

  2. Check the workspaces in use

    The Workspaces in use card shows squares: filled ones are workspaces in use, empty ones are free places in the license.

  3. Copy the installation ID

    Click Copy next to the Installation ID and send it to your vendor. A license is issued for this specific installation.

  4. Install or replace the license

    Paste the key you received into License key and choose Install license (when one is already installed: Replace license). The result appears under the form.

  5. Remove the license

    The Remove license button is shown when a license is installed. Choose it, then confirm with Remove. Cancel closes the question without changes.

Limitations

  • A key for another installation or product, and a key that has already expired, are rejected.
  • After removing the license the registry is read-only until you install a new one.
  • The app only shows the number of workspaces. It does not stop you adding more than the license covers.
