IP Box reports

IP Box report

A report for one tax year: lines, IP ledger and PIT/IP annex, with XLSX export and the option to pin it.

Address in the app: /entrepreneurs/:entrepreneurId/reports/:reportId

Here you check a generated report for the chosen year. The report is read-only: you fix income, expenses and tax inputs elsewhere, then regenerate.

From this window you download the XLSX file, open the PIT/IP annex preview and pin a finished report.

What the window looks like

/entrepreneurs/:entrepreneurId/reports/:reportId
The report with preparation notes, annex, ledger and lines.

Parts of the window

  1. Report buttons

Above the buttons you see the year and a summary: line count, IP revenue and other revenue. Below them is a note that the report is read-only.

Regenerate and pin are hidden for a pinned report and in an archived workspace.

    • Regenerate from sources recalculates the report.
    • Pin report opens a confirmation.
    • Export XLSX downloads the file.
  2. Report preparation

A list of warnings and three steps. Warnings show e.g. invoices without an IP right, unclassified expenses or provisional Nexus.

The section disappears once the report is pinned.

  3. PIT/IP annex

Preview and XLSX file of the annex. It is a working copy for review, not a filing document.

When the annex is unavailable, the box says what to do, e.g. regenerate the report.

    • Open PIT/IP shows the preview.
    • Download XLSX downloads the annex.
  4. Detailed IP ledger

Source data saved at generation: monthly totals and a table of documents with amounts, Nexus categories a–d, classification and commit hashes.

It also shows the month total and cumulative values.

  5. Report lines

A line is an invoice assigned to an IP right in a given month. Columns show Nexus, share, qualified revenue, IP cost and qualified income, among others.

The Source column shows where a line comes from: calculated automatically (AUTO), added by hand (MANUAL) or changed (OVERRIDDEN).

/entrepreneurs/:entrepreneurId/reports/:reportId
Confirming the pin.

Parts of the window

  1. Pin confirmation

Pinning saves a permanent read-only copy of the report. Later edits and regeneration do not change it.

Confirm pin saves the copy, Cancel closes the box.

/entrepreneurs/:entrepreneurId/reports/:reportId
The PIT/IP annex preview opened.

Parts of the window

  1. PIT/IP preview

The summary matches the annex in the XLSX file: revenue and costs, workings for each IP right, tax and all fields.

Missing source inputs are listed with links to the settings.

Try it live

The demo runs in your browser on fictional data. Changes are kept only in this browser (localStorage).

How to

  1. Check the preparation notes

Read the warnings in Prepare your IP Box report. The links lead to where you can fix them.

  2. Regenerate the report

After the fixes, click Regenerate from sources. The report is recalculated from current data and the draft opens.

  3. Review the annex

In PIT/IP annex click Open PIT/IP. Add missing values in tax settings, then regenerate.

  4. Download the file

Export XLSX downloads the report; Download XLSX next to the annex downloads the PIT/IP annex alone.

Good to know

  • Pin report is not shown for an already pinned report or an archived workspace.

  • A pin cannot be undone or edited; a pinned report is read-only.
  • A report without saved source data must be regenerated once before it can be pinned.
  • PIT/IP annex fields are verified for 2025 only.
